There's lots to do in Scotland this summer, take a look at our guide to what's on
If you're looking for a memorable day out then head to Edinburgh to visit this enchanting castle and delve into the depths of Scotland's history in the castle's dungeons.
Standing proud on top of an extinct volcano is this iconic building that dominates the city's skyline. Take a tour of the castle and its stunning grounds to discover Scotland's past and see why it attracts over one million visitors every year.
If you want to find out about life inside the castle, every Friday, Saturday and Sunday Costumed characters are on hand for you for an insight. Sit back and hear stories about their lives from the time in which they lived. Performances take place in the Great Hall four times a day, however there is a charge for this.
And if you're feeling brave, take a look at around the spooky dungeons but beware, some believe Edinburgh castle to be one of the most haunted castles in Europe.

The UK's highest mountain, Ben Nevis is a well worthwhile climb. At over 4400 feet, we're not saying the climb will be light work but if you are feeling up to it, the results are bound to be rewarding.
To the east you'll see towards Aonach Mor, Aonach Beag and beyond. To the south lies Glen Nevis and the Mamores, and it's sometimes possible to make out the mountains of Glen Coe.
Of course, with Scotland's unpredictable weather, it's likely to be cold, wet or even snowy once you're up there and with various routes to the top, be sure to plan carefully.
