Half-term is already here. That’s right, the Autumn week of school holiday where every parent up and down the land wracks their brains about what to do each day.

Paradise Wildlife Park, Hertfordshire
The wildlife park that claims to be the ‘UK’s most interactive zoo’ does indeed give visitors a truly up close and personal experience. Try feeding the lemurs – you’ll find them nuzzling into your neck and scurrying over your head. Or, feed the lions – give them hunks of meat and watch them gobble their food inches from you. Colchester Zoo, Essex
A city zoo with a full on daily schedule of 30 different activities - from being a keeper for the day, to taking part in feeding sessions, watching birds of prey flying displays and penguin parades, enjoying encounters with reptiles such as slithery snakes, to seeing elephant bath time.
