It's Christmas! Well, maybe not quite yet - but it's at least time to start thinking about the big day.
With that in mind, we bring you the best of the UK's sparkly Christmas markets. Come Christmas, the UK can rival the best markets that Europe has to offer; so, if you're not visiting a German, Austrian or Swiss market this year, then why not take a look at our very own. It's time to get into that Festive Cheer...
We begin in Nottingham, where various stalls set up in Old Market Square to keep the spirit alive. Traditional German arts & crafts are sold alongside warming German sausage and Glühwein, similar to our Mulled Wine. In addition, a Christmas Craft Market will sell unique gifts for friends and family. Both markets will run from 19th November - 23rd December. Find out more about Christmas in Nottingham.
London's very own Winter Wonderland returns this year and will include an ice skating rink, a giant toboggan, a German Market, plenty of fairground rides and the chance to meet Santa who'll give each child a Christmas gift. Located in Hyde Park, this event was attended last year by many top celebrities and here's hoping this year will bring more!
The Bath Christmas Market is becoming ever more popular. This year 123 wooden chalets will be located in the magical setting between Bath Abbey and the Roman Baths, each selling some of the season's best gifts, foods and decorations. Find out more at the Bath Christmas Markets website.
Manchester is full of Christmas spirit, from the giant Santa seated on the city's town hall to the impressive Christmas Market. This year, the market is bigger than ever before selling arts & crafts, hot seasonal foods, and plenty of gift opportunities. See more about Christmas in Manchester.
Although only open for a few days in December, the Lincoln Christmas Market is certainly one to remember. Visitors will discover many festive goodies laid out on over 300 stalls. Open Thursday 4th - Sunday 7th December 2008, whilst in Lincoln you may want to visit the famous Castle or Cathedral.
Last but not least, Edinburgh. This market is set in East Princes Street Gardens and offers friends and families alike the chance to join in the Christmas cheer with a number of organised events. Have a go at ice-skating, enjoy festive children's shows, or simply browse the market. Find out more on Edinburgh's Christmas website.
