New Zealand is famous for it's diverse and stunning scenery so Sky Travel decided we'd find out the most exciting ways to see the country. The Mauri's call it Aotearoa which means 'The Land of the Long White Cloud' and it is indeed magical. It is one of the few places on the planet that can claim to be home to some of the most stunning mountains, widest lakes, inspiring glaciers and a huge archipelago supporting a wealth of marine activity. It spells adventure.

Muriwai Beach is true surfer heaven. The swell and the energy of the sea makes for extreme surf fishing too. No, it's not only the tropical fish that are huge but the blowhole blasts spray from the ocean sky high.
It is also home to one of only two gannet colonies in the country. You'll be able to see the white birds clearly when they nest against the silty black sand beach. The sand is hotter to the toes than white sand because the volcanic iron content absorbs the heat. The sea at this tranquil spot can reach bath-water temperatures!
