Never in my wildest dreams did I expect to spend an evening sipping champagne with James Hewitt. If I'm honest, I didn't really expect to like him either being that, well, you remember the headlines. But recently I found myself doing just that. And I have to say I found Mr Hewitt most charming and indeed most humorous.
In spring this year James opened Polo House in Marbella, the idea of which is based on something of a Colonial drinking club. Of course it's immensely posh and serves excellent food and wine. If you're in Marbella do go there. It's not prohibitively expensive and you might just spot JH himself sitting on the terrace with a glass of bubbly in hand. Famous faces and locals alike already love it.
And if, like me, you haven't yet been invited to spend a week or two on Richard Branson's famed Necker Island then you might be up for pondering the possibilities of a visit to other celebrity owned establishments. Here are my top recommendations...
