Our writer Sarah Foden has fallen in love, she's fallen head over heels for a little Greek island called Mykonos. Find out why she thinks you should see this place for yourself, this summer.
By Sarah Foden
Since returning from a recent trip to Greece, I've decided I'd quite like to get married.
No Mum, before you rush out and buy a hat, it's not because I've met the man of my dreams. I've not been swept off my feet by Prince Charming but I have however fallen in love, with a little gem of an island in Greece, called Mykonos.
So, if you haven't already guessed it, the reason I'd like to get married is so that I can have my honeymoon on this island....and live happily ever after here, of course.
Mykonos is well known as the Greek island where the rich and famous are drawn to from all over the world and the shops, clubs, restaurants and rather stylish yachts out to sea give an indication this is true.
But, the good news for us holidaymakers this year is that Mykonos is now accessible as a lot of the other Greek islands. The current climate means that prices are now more affordable than in previous years.
The cosmopolitan island of Mykonos known for its sandy beaches, charming character, stylish shopping and its lively nightlife is one of the Cycladic islands found south-east of mainland Greece, in the Aegean Sea.
It is here where white washed houses, meet luxury hotels, small fishing boats meet elegant yachts and traditional culture meets a vibrant nightlife.
It may sound like a cliché but there really is something for everyone on the island of Mykonos.
