It’s not every day that 6000 people descend upon one of the world’s most famous bridges for breakfast. Yes, thousands may cross the Sydney Harbour Bridge each year, but yesterday saw the start of something quite different for Australia’s iconic bridge.
At a prompt 6.30AM, the bridge closed down to traffic and opened up to thousands bearing blankets, bread and jam in order to take part in Sydney’s first ever ‘Breakfast on the Bridge’.
The lucky 6000 were chosen from a whopping 45,000 people who applied to take part in the early morning event and by the looks of the photo on the next page, this was certainly breakfast with a view...
