Day one, the girls and I arrived and rented out some cute little VW Campers, which allowed us the freedom to travel from place to place, exploring the bits of Devon that we wanted too, at our own pace and in true 60's style.
Touring Devon in VW campers is a great way to get around.
We drove the camper to a small town called Tuckenhay, and, in our quest to get back to nature we were thrown in at the deep end. Literally.
A quick clothes change - hairgrips, skirts and coats swapped for hats, tracksuits and life-jackets and we were ready for an evening canoe ride. All aboard and off we paddled.
Forget cramped, this was our spacious and graceful canoe.
With a bit of river navigation from our guide and a few local history stories later, we arrived quite quickly at a clearing in the woods and our stop off point for a homemade barbeque, complete with wine and cake of course. Feeling stuffed to the gills it was homeward bound. And as luck would have it, home was a stylish moored yacht.
