ACTRESS Jane Seymore will be one of seven godmothers involved in the naming of Oasis of the Seas later this month.
Jane – did you know her real name is Joyce Penelope Wilhelmina Frankenberg – will join singer Gloria Estefan in officially launching the world’s biggest cruise ship in Florida on November 30.
Jane played Solitaire in the 1973 Bond film Live And Let Die.
I'm flying out to see the ship in Fort Lauderdale next week, so stay tuned for the videos.
Royal Caribbean are having seven godmothers because the 225,000-ton ship has seven “ neighbourhoods” including the Royal Promenade, the Boardwalk and Central Park.
The other godmothers are The Cosby Show star Keshia Knight Pullman, Olympic figure skater Michelle Kwan, Olympic swimmer Dara Tores, Olympic gymnast Shawn Johnson and fitness expert Daisy Fuentes.

WHILE I was away in St Lucia, the biggest Carnival Cruise Lines ship ever built was named –
with just one godmother, but an unusual ceremony.
Actress Marcia Gay Harden whacked the top off a giant champagne bottle with a baseball bat to
launch the Carnival Dream in New York.
You can see video of the event, hosted by Carnival’s senior cruise director John Heald, in
today’s video diary.

REMEMBER I went on a cruise up the River Nile a few weeks ago, and visited the tomb of
Tutankhamen in the Valley of the Kings at Luxor?
Well, it seems we were just in time.
From next May the boy king’s tomb will be closed to visitors for five years, while scientists
work out how to deal with erosion of the wall decorations caused by thousands of visitors.
The rest of the valley will still be open and frankly, although Tut’s place is the most
famous there’s really not a lot to see once you're in. Several of the other tombs are much more
lavishly decorated.
