Ben Fogle spent nine days exploring New Zealand, recording his experiences, the scenery and those he met along the way in his video Diary.
On a quest to discover the real ‘Kiwi experience’, his journey took him through much New Zealand’s great outdoors, from the high snow-covered mountains, to gushing rivers, to its deep impenetrable bush.
Day 1: Nelson
Ben arrives in Nelson Harbour and sails the coast in a chartered yacht. He finds out that while the wind in his hair is relaxing, the winching of the mainsail is not. However, there’s a old lighthouse across the bay that makes the whole journey worthwhile.
