Just 40 miles off the coast of Africa, Lanzarote is the fourth largest Canary Island and offers visitors sunshine to enjoy, no matter the time of year.
It's volcanic landscapes are certainly a point of interest, so much so that they were used in part of the filming for Planet of the Apes.
Whether you're looking to relax on the beach and in bars, or would prefer to be a little more adventurous, Lanzarote delivers. Head to the caves or take a boat trip to Fuerteventura for a more active way to spend your time.
