Head to the Dominican Republic between January and March for some top whale watching excursions
Any holiday to the Dominican Republic between the months of January and March, simply wouldn't be complete without an excursion to see the migrating residents, the Humpback Whale.
During this season more than 10,000 humpbacks migrate here for calving and mating.
So proud of their whales, locals organise many day trip excursions in order to share the fantastic sights with others.
Samana Bay is the best place to meet these stunning creatures, in fact head out to sea on one of these trips and you may see Humpbacks measuring up to 15 metres long!
Many trips combine a morning whale watching with an afternoon excursion, often to Cayo Levantado, a small island in Samana Bay.
Watch the Sky Travel video above to follow an whale watching boat, take tips from our presenter, and find out what others thought of the excursion.
