The Grand Palace and Wat Phra Kaeo
One of Bangkok's most stunning sights is the magnificent Grand Palace, and it certainly is Grand. This impressive building, dating back to the 18th century was built to mark the founding of the new capital. Once a Royal residence, The Grand Palace most importantly is the shrine for the Emerald Buddha Phra Kaeo, who was laid to rest here. Within the palace grounds is where you'll find Thailand's most sacred shrine Wat Phra Kaeo, but before you enter you must cover your knees and heels. There's also a number of other sacred buildings, artwork and monuments to discover.

Chinatown
Bangkok's Chinatown was once the financial centre of the city, but visit this vibrant and bustling part of the city today and you'll find a maze of lively markets, sacred Chinese shrines and some truly great places to eat and relax, away from the hustle and bustle of the busy streets. Wat Pho
Wat Pho, which is also known as the Temple of the Reclining Buddha is Bangkok's oldest and largest temple. Home to the largest Buddha in Thailand, the reclining Buddha and more Buddha images than any other temple in Thailand Wat Pho is a place not to missed whilst in Bangkok. This magnificent building with other numerous ornate monuments, artwork and interesting artefacts is also known as the birthplace of the Thai massage.

Wat Arun
Seeing is believing with Wat Arun, this magnificent piece of architecture is one of Bangkok's most impressive landmarks. The decorative exterior of this large temple is what draws tourists to it. Also known as Temple of the Dawn, you can get great views of the structure from across the river, its height makes it easy to see from far away. Made up of one main prang surrounded by other prangs, you can take some steep steps part the way up the main prang, where you can appreciate the beauty of the city from a different perspective.

Damnoen Saduak floating Market
