About Millennium Stadium, Cardiff
With its sliding roof and giant interior (seating 74,500), the Millennium Stadium puts Cardiff on the map as the proud owner of the sleek building of the new millennia. Completed in 1999 (just in time!) it cost £126 million to build. The stadium opened with bursting Welsh pride when they team beat South Africa for the first time ever. It's also used for pop concerts for the likes of Oasis and Take That. It transforms into a giant dirt track for the Speedway Grand Prix and you can even watch some car-crushing American Monster Truck Racing later this year.
