The third largest of the Canary Islands and the most densely populated, Gran Canaria is a mosaic of landscapes pushed together to form an exciting destination. Towns and villages skirt the coast of this almost perfectly-circular island, and the terrain rises dramatically in the centre to a peak nearly two kilometres above sea level.
