A family-friendly resort and home to the Costa Dorada's best beaches, Salou is a popular holiday location. The beach is long and gently-shelving with fine sand, backed by a tree-lined promenade. Here you can find restaurants, shops, bars and discos to keep yourself entertained both day and night. Additional activities, such as watersports, golf, cycling, paragliding and hiking, are dotted around the resort, and a street market is held in Salou every Monday.
For more beaches, head to Cap Salou, east of the main resort. You'll find a selection of smaller beaches and a nice resort with quaint streets to roam. The nightlife here is also very relaxed, so it's ideal if you want to soak up the evening atmosphere at a local restaurant.
Salou is much livelier than other resorts on the Costa Dorada and great if you want a bit more of a buzz in the evening. If bars, clubs and discos are your cup of tea, then you'll find your fill in Salou. For those of you who like a taste of home while on holiday, the British style pubs, as well as restaurants selling international dishes, will keep you happy.
The local August fiesta also provides fireworks and festivity if you are lucky enough to be around at this time.
Transfers are approximately half an hour.
