Castle of Nights
Dominating the harbour of Kos Town, the Castle of Nights is connected to the mainland via a drawbridge. This historic fortification was originally built in the 1300s, but was added to in the following centuries. Once a retreat and defence from Ottoman attack, the castle still stands proud today and is admired by all who visit. A museum inside houses Byzantine murals.

Ancient Agora
An earthquake on this site uncovered a remarkable collection of many ruins dating from different ages. Areas of special interest include the Roman Agora, a 3rd-century BC temple, and a 5th-century Christian Basilica. Some appealing floor mosaics can also be found at this site.

Nafklirou - Street of Bars
The self-explanatory 'street of bars' in Kos Town is the place to head for lively night out in this area. Jam-packed with bars, on the Nafklirou you have a range of night locations to choose from, pumping out all kinds of music from chart to jazz to traditional Greek. All bars are open until late, and 2-4am is not uncommon.

Famous as a party resort, many bars and clubs are available in Kardamena . With nearly 300 bars to choose from and too many nightclubs to count, the nightlife of Kardamena is aimed more towards groups of friends than at families. Church of St John the Baptist
Although this round-roofed church dates from the 5th century, it is constructed with material used in ancient buildings, including a Hellenistic frieze. Located in Kardamena.
