Pubs, Bars and Food
Fans from various teams have their own stamping ground leaving each other to celebrate or commiserate with mutual understanding. It's probably worth taking note just so you don't end up the wrong side of the river although it's not a hard and fast rule.
Scottish fans: Head to Montmartre to the pubs and bars surrounding the Sacre Coeur. The Auld Alliance on 80 rue François-Miron is a gem of a Scottish pub with enough whiskies to see you into the small hours. The closest metro is St Paul
French fans: This is where the French cheer with unabated joy or lick their wounds in the eastern part of Paris at the Bastille, the home of the French Revolution. Au Metro near Montparnasse station has a large invisible French supporters' sign all over it. It is friendly enough and closing times are relaxed.
English rugby fans end up in a happy muddle in the centre. The best street is the Rue Princesse where Eden Park Café at number 10 which is owned by ex-rugbymen from the Racing Club de France. Very popular come rugby season. Take the St Germain des Prés metro stop.
Next door is The Frog and Princess, and within in lunging distance are rugby-boozers Little Temple Bar (No. 11), the Bedford Arms (No. 17). Round the corner on 29, rue des Canettes you'll find O'Neil's. Don't miss The Bombardier either at the Luxembourg metro stop. It's hearty and welcoming with honest fare and Guinness. Why, you could almost be in England!
That's a pub crawl for starters.
Another pub not far off is Le Drop on 20 rue Keller. Read into the name what you will but I'm sure there's a drop-kick in there somewhere. The closest metro is Bastille.
Le Sous-Bock Taverne on 49 rue St Honoré is for boisterous boys. With 150 beers to choose from it is accustomed to stag parties and does not flinch at a rugby game. Friendly and fun.
Corcorans is favoured by rugby lovers and is situated on 28 rue Saint Andre des Arts. Being big and Irish it's not too surprising as it's one of the best. Get off at metro stop, St Michel. Guinness is often known as a being a meal in a glass but here they pour a glass into the meal with their meat-and-Guinness stew.
Le Rugby could not be more obvious. Within stumbling distance from the Stade de France the bar is loud and crowded and forgetful of its closing times.
For post-pub activity, head to Le Pousse au Crime on Rue des Canettes. Club entrance is 15euros though be careful of the dress code - no sports shoes.
