Square of the Loggia
Dubrovnik's political and economic centre, the Square of the Loggia is equally well known for being a popular meeting place. In and around this square are many buildings of importance in Dubrovnik. In its centre is Orlando's column, the most popular place for meeting; to the east, the clock tower, a 15th-century monument standing close to the bell tower; and close by, the Main Guard House, a large 15th-century building that has since undergone various restorations and developments but still maintains its charm, with a grand Baroque doorway and Gothic windows.

City Walls
An iconic piece of Dubrovnik, the 10th-century city walls provide visitors with remarkable views over the city, the sea and the harbour. The walls are a wonderful place to see the true and complete beauty of Dubrovnik at its very best. Access to the walls is from the Franciscan Monastery and a tour guide is available should you require one.

Franciscan Monastery
Originally completed in the 15th century, the Franciscan Monastery was almost entirely destroyed by an earthquake. Reconstruction took place in the 17th century, but some original features remain. These include the Gothic-style south door, the marble pulpit, and the Romanesque-Gothic cloister with a marvellous 15th-century fountain in its centre. Also housed inside this monastery are a medical room, in use since the 1300s, and the Franciscan Museum displaying apparatus from the pharmacy alongside some remarkable religious works of art.

Stradun
Spanning Dubrovnik from east to west and running through two city gates, the Stradun is a large 12th-century street which was originally built to join the separated island of Ragusa to the mainland. Today, the Stradun is lined with cafes and bars, lending this part of Dubrovnik a flavour of the European café-culture. The Stradun is a popular place with visitors and locals alike, and gets particularly busy in the evening.
