Fancy upping the tempo? Then try your hand at the watersports on offer, or grab your shoes and head into the medina (old town) where you can browse the number of shops, restaurants and cafes, or explore the souks (markets). No trip to Tunisia is complete without a trip to the infamous souks, and once caught up in the colour, smell and vibrancy of a local market you'll understand why. Dare to haggle and you could walk away with some incredible bargains.
Surrounded by a wall the medina is beautifully contained and overlooked by an old fort. Fishing boats are scattered down below and the horse-drawn carriages roaming the streets fill the resort with a charm that can best be understood by those who have experienced it.
Hammamet is also home to two golf courses and a marina. Should you want to explore further afield then Tunis makes a good day out. Evening entertainment is low-key and based on candlelit dinners by the sea and evening walks by moonlight.
The average transfer time from Monastir airport to Hammamet is 1 hour 30 minutes.
