Djemaa el-Fna
This famous square is a UNESCO world heritage site, and the vibrant heart of Marrakech - a bustling area for trade, commerce and leisure. On any given day you'll discover snake-charmers, healers, acrobats and more. Stalls sell spices, jewellery and ceramics, and come evening the smell of grilled meat, spices and vegetables circle the square tempting all who pass. Other, less appetising foods on sale can include snails, and even sheep's heads. Certainly, this colourful square will entice all. Be sure to haggle to get the best deals.

Koutoubia Mosque
One of the biggest mosques for Western Muslim's, the Koutoubia Mosque contains many isles and chambers that can hold up to 20,000 people at one time. Inside is a courtyard, a pool and the prayer room, while the beautiful minaret is the tallest building in Marrakech and contains six rooms towering on top of one another, with a spectacular city view from its top. Non-Muslims are not permitted inside, but a visit here is recommended even so, for the ornate design and the pleasant surrounding area.

Saadian Tombs
Some of the greatest Islamic architecture to be found within Morocco, the Saadian tombs are remnant of the Saadian rule. The elaborately decorated tombs were opened to the public in the early 1900's, and today visitors can see the burial place of Sultan Ahmed el Mansour and his heirs.

Dar Si Saïd Museum
Housed inside an Islamic Palace, the Dar Si Saïd Museum is a wonderful collection of Moroccan crafts, from carpets, to costume, to jewellery. Some archaeological artefacts are also displayed.
