High Atlas Mountains

Taroudant
Once the capital of Marrakech, the ancient city of Taroudant is often referred to as the ‘Grandmother of Marrakech' due to its peaceful atmosphere. A former Saadian city, today Taroudant offers a large range of activities to its visitors. See the historical city wall, relax in the orchards and olive groves or browse the souks for local produce such as pottery, carpets and jewellery.

This ancient fortress was built in the 16th century, although after a 20th century earthquake the ramparts were rebuilt. Take a taxi to the top for spectacular views over Agadir.
