September 20,2009:
Arrived at the Days hotel Friday 18th sept at approx 5.30pm. Really felt welcomed by the male receptionist - very pleasant and helpful. My husband and I had come down to manchester for a couple of nights and were also meeting other relatives at the Days hotel. Went to our room which we had a 'deal' on being a city room. (£110 for 2 nights and beakfast ) ! Great power shower! First impressions - small but very clean, well presented with lovely bed covers ,bolster on bed and thick curtains , all the colours , carpet etc matched too! Yes I know many will say well it's somewhere to sleep only - but although it is a tiny room it is also nice and certainly adequate for a couple of nights - longer then that probably not! however our relatives had a a much bigger room - work zone I think , with bath , chairs and little table -their rate was £62 for 1 night but no brekkie. Which leads to mentioning the fantastic breakfast we had on both mornings - the restaurant manager was amazing to watch very professional and kept the staff and restaurant running perfectly , the food was very hot, tasty and not greasy at all! Plenty to choose from - yoghurts, meats, cheeses, jams, pastries, smoked salmon, to full english! All staff we came across were extremely helpful and polite- I have stayed in higher rated hotels - but staff at this establishment were fab. The conservatory bar was good , with doors opening to a little courtyard- maybe some small table and chairs with umbrellas would be nice in hot weather ( a few of us thought this would be nice)! Overall we had a great weekend and would stay here again. -

stayed here for manchester pride with my partner after spending the previous two nights in what could only be described as a hovel (merchants hotel...do not go!!) what an amazng welcome! arrived way before our designated check in but were able to leave bags in secure luggage room.staff were welcoming,friendly and could not do enough for us,after telling them about our experiance at the merchants we were given free wine,upgraded for breakfast (which was not included in the price of our room) and were made to feel special,i would like to personnaly thank leslie as i can imagine it must have been a busy and stressful weekend but he could not have been more courteous,we will definately be returning! -

I have too add to the Negative comments on the site i agree location is fantastic and price was fair.......but the budget rooms are actually student accomodation very basic and tatty with damage to the decor and doors ,No television ....very hard single bed and in the Weston wing where the room was located the smell of sewage was very strong .THIS WAS THE WORST HOTEL ROOM I HAVE EVER STAYED IN !!! I imagine a prison cell too be bigger and in better condition .Please be aware when booking at this site of the different standards. -
September 3,2009:
Part of a big conference - so perhaps it would have been different otherwise. Rooms are ok - but not special in any possible sense. Cleaning is adequate. Breakfast was a huge awful buffet (but this might have been due to the conference) and they didn't serve food until 7.30am. However, the staff were helpful - thank you. The location was poor - felt as though it was part of nowhere and not particularly safe. -
August 4,2009:
Stayed here last Saturday night, and received very friendly service, as well as vouchers for free drinks at the bar (which served Real Ale, though that wasn't on the offer). Very convenient location in a safe area of the city, handy for restaurants and bars and wotnot. Breakfast was served until 11, and was fresh until then - we arrived just after 10 and they were still bringing out fresh food for the hot buffet. hotel that we could see on each floor, and great artwork in the room. They also had a great pendulum in the mdidle of the I'd definitely recommend staying here.
