November 10,2009:
I travelled with my husband and two teenage sons (16) & (14), this was our first time to Dubai so didn't really know what to expect. We were very pleasantly surprised with everything on this holiday. First of all this hotel is not in Dubai, it is about 1hours drive away, so if you are wanting to be right in the city of Dubai or Jumeriah Beach, than this hotel is not for you. To be honest in the imediate area surrounding the Hilton there is not much about, but we didn't mind this we were quite happy to stay in the hotel itself. having said that it is only 5 mins in a cab which costs about a pound to go to the shopping mall nearby. We did this most evenings my boys were happy to have Mcdonalds, KFC ect, and my husband and I had a Starbucks, and looked around the shops. The hotel had several bars and resturants that were quite reasonable in price, we was very surprised at this as we were expecting prices to be a lot more than they were, beer was about £4.00 coke about £2.50 club sandwich, burgers and chips about £8.00, I know this isn't exactly cheap but remeber this is a five star hotel so compared to many hotels that we have stayed in especially in London, which were no where nearly as nice as the Hilton this was quite reasonable. A bus went from outside the hotel every half an hour to the other Hilton Spa and Beach Club, this was only 5 mins away, and was lovely, you could use all the facilities at the beach club, and the beach was lovely, there was always plenty of sunbeds and umbrellas ect, and the sea was lovely. We did two trips while we was there which we booked at the hotel. one was the desert safari, which my boys loved, this cost about £46 pound each, we was picked up outside the hotel in a 4 x 4 at 3pm and driven to the desert which was about 1hour away, then was taken on a roller coster ride in the sand dunes for about and hour, we then stopped and you could then try sand boarding if you wanted, then it was back in the jeep and taken to a camp where you had free food and soft drinks, and belly dancers, we got back to the hotel about 10.30pm, another trip we did was to hire a private car and driver for 8 hours to Dubai city, this cost about £80, our driver took us to all the sights of Dubai city, we saw the Burj Al Arab, (the sail hotel, 7 stars) we went on the Palms, went in the Atlantis hotel, so the Sheiks palace, went to the gold souks, where our driver managed to haggle with the shop owners and get us a bargain on some jewery, we also went to the big shopping mall, which was amazing. All in all we had a great holiday, the hotel was great, with lovely people, great food at reasonable prices, we felt the staff at the hotel were lovely and always very helpful. We would go back without any hesitation, yes there are some lovely hotels in Dubai itself, but you pay much more to stay there, we felt that doing the day trip to Dubai city we saw everything that we wanted to see. So if you are looking for a relaxing holiday, guaranteed sunshine excellent hotel and are not worried about being right in Dubai itself, than I can throughly recommend the Hilton. I hope this review has been useful. -

October 31,2009:
just come back from 14 nights in this hotel arriving on the 4th October 2009 we had a sea view room which was great and the bathroom was very spacious. we had been warned that the hotel was not finished however we were surprised how much was still being done around 80 rooms not completed and the workers started from 7.30 to around 11.30 at night so when we had been there 3 nights we had a word with the Virgin rep as the noise was pretty intrusive and Jimmy the Virgin rep did try and strug us off at the begining but then realised we would not drop it so the next day we were upgraded free of charge to one of the villas down on the beach and they were fab and did not hear any noise. the hotel was fab pools and separate one for kids. as this is a new hotel the staff are new but very polite. the main buffet restaurant is brillant for breakfast aload of choice but to be honest very disappointing for the evening food not very much choice and the service was not great. definately recommend all inclusive as it is very expensive £3.00 for a small bottle of water. the allowance given for the other restaurants does not go very far for the Italian so did not go there but the Passage to Asia is fab and we went there around 4 times as the food was fantastic. they do have a South American restaurant which is all that you can eat which was ok. which was included in the All inclusive but not sure for how long as it think it was only short term due to the hotel not being finished. just to warn you that the Watersports centre was not open while out there which i think should have been communicated as that could have effect peoples hoidays. overall it was good and i would recommend it and we are thinking of going back next year to see how the hotel works being fully opened -
October 30,2009:
Hotel was decent, but there were power outages throughout my stay. RAK is not Dubai or Abu Dhabi. It is mismanaged, sometimes frightening place, that has become a magnet for illegal trade and smuggling with Iran. Hilton works hard to keep guests secure, but I wouldn't spend much time outside. -
October 11,2009:
We are returning on saturday for a week, the food is top class, the beds are very comfortable. The service is excellent, the beach club is amazing. Cannot wait to go back.
