October 20,2009:
We had an enjoyable stay at the hotel, the rooms are large and airy. -
September 24,2009:
I have recently stayed at the Silom City Hotel with three other friends. It is a friendly, clean and cost effect accomodation. The location at first was not pleasing to the eye, but then I realised that the hotel is situated next to the best authentic Thai food. I highly recommend Suzci's resturant which is two minutes away. Easy links to the night markets and entertainment. The hotel does off traditional thai massages, which i recommend to take as its not expensive, but the quality of service is great. -
July 28,2009:
Stayed here for two weeks. Hotel is tucked away between the busy streets of Silom Rd and Surawong Rd. Don't judge it by the soi that runs out front. This hotel is not for someone looking for a resort, but rather someone who appreciates the local culture. Within walking distance of lots of sights and within reach of almost everything using transportation. Our group had three rooms reserved. Each was set up as requested and ready when we arrived late at night. My wife and I had a Deluxe Suite Plus (6th floor). It was a HUGE room with small kitchenette (fridge, sink, microwave, coffee maker.) Furniture included desk, sitting chairs, & dining table. King sized bed was enormous (largest I have seen) and comfortably firm making for great sleep. My wife demanded I find one like it when we returned home! Room featured tile and wood laminate floors which cleaning staff mopped daily. Lights and TV were controlled by bedside remote station - nice feature. Other rooms were smaller, but had similar features. Front desk and bellmen were attentive and helpful. Breakfast (included in price) featured a variety of items (rice dishes, noodles, soup, meats, toast & croissants, fresh fruit, eggs cooked to order, cold cereals, coffee, tea and juices. It is available from 6:30 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. Plenty of options for other meals are right outside. If eating at a street vendor is not your style check out the Siam House one soi away (clean and inexpensive) or the Foo Mui Kee Chinese restaurant toward Surawong Rd. Reserved our rooms online (good discount) at recommendation of Bangkok resident. We were overwhelmingly pleased! -
July 18,2009:
Be careful when you make the reservations, as a 'standard room' doesn't necessarily mean it will be a twin room. We booked one standard room and one deluxe room for 4 people and specifically requested it to be twin rooms. When we arrived we were told the only standard rooms available was a double bed, and we were forced to pay extra if we wanted 2 single beds!!! This I found disappointing as we had no choice but to pay. We were however upgraded to the deluxe suite, which has a balcony...those the views was not that amazing. Overall, the rooms were clean and was in a good size (because we paid more). The breakfast staffs were extremely courteous and the concierge team was very helpful. -
July 7,2009:
I like this Hotel. It has been renovated and they have done a pretty good job. As far as value for money goes this was very good. I think I paid around $38 a night and I stayed 4 nights. The rooms are very spacious and the bed is comfortable. Everything was neat and tidy and the bathroom, while being a little small, was clean. I had free WiFi and Cable Internet in my room, the WiFi was dropping out so I used the cable which was fast and drama free. This Hotel has nice big hallways, light carpet and not too much silly artwork often seen gracing the walls of Hotels these days. It is in a funky location, very local and just off Silom Road (Silom 22) and it is nice walking around. The breakfast was pretty good, lots too choose from, not much western cereal type of food but there were eggs and toast and lots of Asian delights. There are plenty of cabs around and the ride to the airport at 7.30am took 25 minutes which was great. Overall this is a nice little Hotel and I expect it will get very busy once the value is noticed.
