  We stayed at the Mavrikos in August 2009 and met up with friends who we have been meeting here for the last 14 years, we all have children who also meet up even though they are now young adults. John ,Marianna and all the staff make us feel very welcome. The hotel is very clean and lovely clean towels every day. We have always had a brilliant holiday here and so much so we came back with 4 friends the first week in October 2009 and had a wonderful relaxing time and wouldn't go anywhere else. We also have a laugh with Jean and Keith at the bar.

  Recently travelled to Tsilivi for the first time and spent a great week at the Mavrikos, Marianna and teh rest of her staff could not do enough to help and were extremly friendly. I would not hesiate to stay here again or recommend to anybody. Great pool too ! It's in a great spot with only a slight incline coming back up from the town, (which you don't notice at night time after a few social beers) 2 minutes and you are at bars etc and10 mins walk to the beach. If you want a clean comfortable place to laty your head for a week of sunshine you can't go wrong here Danny

  We have been going back for 13 years now and have never had a problem with the hotel, john & marianna are lovely and very welcoming, and bar staff are excellent. the rooms are are always clean and tidy and you have new towels everyday. the poolside isalways clean. the hotel staff are always pleaseant and helpful. always got a smile on their faces. We also got married at the hotel in 2005 and it was a wonderful day! All the staff were so helpful making the day run very smoothly. Cannot fault the hotel you get what you pay for basically so i dont see why people are complaining! Overall its an excellent family orientated hotel.. And we will be making it our 14th time next year! :) Karen, Seamus & Leanne!! xx

  We have been going to the Mavrikos for twelve years and it is a very well run family hotel. the rooms are very comfortable and are kept clean with fresh towels everyday. the staff are all very helpful, Tina on reception is always there if you have a problem and will help you if you want to know about the area. Jean who runs the pool bar, is a very happy and bubbly lady, who gets on well with everybody and is very helpful. (we did not like the comment made about Jean written in June'09, she has run the pool bar for many years, some people are hard to please, the comment that was made, was very nasty and uncalled for!) Eva the cook at the pool bar makes lovely cheesy chips! John and Marianna, owners of the hotel, with their two daughters make you feel very welcome, they are a lovely family, who have run an excellent hotel for 20 years. what more do you want, for a happy and relaxing holiday, stay at the Mavrikos Hotel! The hotel is close to shops and the beach and Zante town is about 15 minutes away! Sylv and John (Essex)

  I would like to start this review by reminding the people who write these reviews that you are writing a review on the hotel and not how Luverly (spelling deliberate) stavros is, or how much the poolside cats have grown this year. If you are one of those people who think a weeks holiday is for getting up as early as your hangovers permit and make a beeline for the bar, where you sit all day dicussing things like the best place to by hp sauce and heinz baked beans (cos they don't make um like they do back home) Then you proberbly don't need to read on. I Don't give a damm about how nice the hotel staff are as I only see them first thing in the morning when we leave the hotel grounds and last thing at night when we return to go to bed. The staff are there to help relieve you of your hard earnt (or ill gotten in the case of some of the bar flies) and are not your best pal!!!!!!!!! That little rant over with, I will start the Hotel review. I am not going to tell you how many times the towels are changed or how many specks of dust I found under the bed or the creepy crawlie on the balcony cos frankly I don't either know or care (get a life you people). The hotel was bang on! Perfect surroundings comfortable and everything where it should be If I saw a member of staff or had a question they were very helpful. The bar was used by a handfull of football watching bad mannered drunks (one even had THE PRIDE OF NEWCASLE printed on his fithy t shirt) The bar was overpriced anyway �6 for 2 coffees ??. The town is fantastic and you are right in the middle of it. The hotel is 70 metre from the main strip so it is Quiet at night. The hill that is refered to on other reviews is no more than a slope that my 80 year old mother could walk up in 15 seconds. In conclusion, after looking at the other hotels in the area I would still plumb for the Mavrikos The weather was great and the sea was very warm (last week of sept) The greek people are friendly, and the beer is cold. Have a nice holiday.
