  I stayed at this hotel with my wife, for three days. The hotel is located in an amazing place, right by the sea. The seaview is amazing. And Eventhough it was end September (last week) the sea was quite with no tides. If you are expecting a clean and quite place to stay, yes you can choose Hotel Kompas. Nothing very special, but everything is within expectations. Please remember, the reception is nearly one floor down to the road (we went there by taxi) so I had to carry our luggages down to the reception. And also our room is in 8th floor (one floor down to the reception) and during check-in and check-out process of crowded groups, we've been hearing their noise. Beside these two points, they provide clean room, nice and quite location, and that was all our expectations. If the hotel would be bought buy another group and renovated and escalated to 4 stars or maybe 5 stars hotel, it'd much better, because the view and the sea was amazing.

  This hotel is located in just the perfect place right next to the sea and very short distance to shops & bars. The food was lovely, I am a vegetarian & thought I may struggle but I was never short of things to eat. The staff are very friendly & fuss over your every need,they even shoo the wasps away for you. I felt very safe in Croatia and you could leave your bag on the beach and never felt it may get pinched. The bus ride is quite short to Dubrovnik thank goodness, as this is the worst bit of the holiday. There is no health & safety here the bus will be crammed with people & in that heat it wasn't very pleasant. The walls at Dubrovnik are a must but make sure you don't go in the middle of the day as it gets unbearably hot. The sea is the clearest I have seen and full of fish even in the shoreline. Another must is the trip on the immitation 16th Century Galleon to the 3 nearest Islands which was superb. The temperature was between 30 - 35 everyday which was a little too hot for me but the air con in the rooms was very good and the pool was good. The evening entertainment at the hotel finished at 11 oclock every night which suited me, however if you wanted to stay out later there are plenty of bars nearby.

  We stayed here in two separate rooms with two teenage girls for a week and really liked the place. Make an extra investment and book seaview room to enjoy the scenary and beautiful evening at the balcony. We felt, that the location was one of the best in the area: end of walking street and next to restaurants, rocky shore and a beach. We were worried about the hotels's salt water pool before the visit, however it was very pleasent. Showers next to the pool need a bit repair though. Even the hotel looks a bit old, the rooms were clean and staff was extremely friendly and helpful. There is also free Wireless LAN in the reception area !

  I read reviews on various hotels in Lapad and I decided to go with this one and i'm happy I did. The location is great, you are within a minutes walk from restaurants, bars and a small beach. The swimming pool area was alot nicer than I expected and had spectacular views. The rooms and hotel itself is basic but clean and staff are very friendly.
