October 27,2009:
I booked a trip for my moms 50th birthday just a quick getaway for 3 nights so i didn't want to spend too much money. I went with my mother her 2 best friends and my sister and it wasn't at all what i expected. When we booked the trip we were told this was a new hotel so you can imagine how surprised we were when as soon as we got there we realized this was the old radisson hotel and by new they meant that the hotel's name was changed 2 yrs ago. So it was fall advertisement. Also when we got there at check in we were told that each of us would be charged a service fee of $18 per person per day which i was not told when i booked the trip so that was an extra $270!!! Also at check in we had two rooms and one room was not ready and we were told that the room would be ready in half hour well the room never ended up being ready they gave us the 2nd room on a different floor even though the hotel seemed empty and quiet. The next day we asked again to change the room they said by 12 when we went to the front desk they said they didn't know when the room would be ready. They only gave us a room on the same floor after we asked to speak to the GM which they would let us talk to. The service is slow as hell. If you ask for a glass of water you get it after you finish your meal. The food was gross and expensive. Even if all you buy is a bottle of water they charge you a 15% gratuity fee and of course the staff was the worst and slowest ever why not if they r already being given gratutiy in advance. The rooms were nothing special and the hall was 115 degrees due to the glass windows that has the sun beating down them all day long. There needs to be maintence in the hotel there r cracks everywhere only one decent restaurant that was closed half the time. even when we went to the casino the rugs weren't even easy to talk on there were bulges in the carpents all over i almost fell a couple of times. The jacuzzi they had wasn't even heated and look like a hole in the ground. Ultimately the only good thing about the sheraton is the beach. The water was beautiful and so is the sand but besides that the hotel is not worth it for that price you might as well book your trip at atlantis and have a completely different and much better experience. -
October 27,2009:
There is a US$36 charge applied for service on each day of your stay, but you will also be charged (automatically) a gratuity on all food and beverages you purchase (which are already greatly inflated in price). Service wass inconsistent -- sometimes good, sometimes awful. There is also an automatic $12 gratuity for the bellhop --- in our case, we were never able to find one. There was a dirty towel in the hallway leading to our room that was there for 2 days -- how many maids and bellmen walked passed it in that time? Similarly, there was garbage (including a half-eaten pizza) in the room where the ice machine was for more than 2 days. This hotel is in a spectacular location, but the staff are de-motivated. Being charged a mandatory service fee is bad enough, but when the service is sub-par, and there are additional mandatory gratuity fees for all food and beverages, that is just too much. I will not go there again. -
October 27,2009:
We stayed at the Sheraton from October 16, 2009 thru October 23, 2009. We were there to attend our daughters wedding....the wedding went off without a hitch...everything was done very professionally..the coordinator "Horatio" did an excellent job and we would recommend him and the Sheraton to handle your beach wedding... Our room was an ocean view on the 8th floor that had a spectacular view of the ocean and all the pools on property (three of them). Housekeeping were prompt, the only delay was us telling them to come back. Of course, your in the Bahamas and food is pricey, especially at the hotel. I would suggest joining the players club at the casino next door, and you will receive discount coupons for the buffets...(dinner about $30 dollars per). The buffets in both the Sheraton and the Wyndham next door had excellent food and is well worth the money spent. It is much cheaper to take the #10 bus downtown for $1.25 each way and have breakfast and/or lunch than eat on property...yes there is a Burger King, McDonalds and thank god for Dunkin Donuts.. We would definately recommend the Sheraton and will stay in the future. -
October 22,2009:
I had the WORST experience at this hotel. When I arrived for my wedding after a year of planning, I got about 25% of what I had ordered. Wrong suites, late hair/makeup person, photographer who left half way through the reception despite being booked for the evening, wrong cake, horrible service and rude staff, embarrasing floral displays and the list goes on. We made the best of it but I would never wish this horrible experience on anyone else. Stay AWAY! -

My husband and I just celebrated our five-year anniversary in Nassau, staying at the Sheraton. The hotel was wonderful: friendly and helpful staff, clean and spacious accommodations, excellent amenities, clean workout facilities with lots of machines, gorgeous beaches (with free snorkel gear provided) and three beautiful pools. Any request I made was fulfilled right away, with a smile. The only drawback was that the prices were a bit high, as is customary for the Bahamas. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting the Bahamas. The best restaurant we ate at was The Montago Gardens. Our concierge called ahead for us and they sent a free shuttle to our hotel, saving us the cab fare there and back. The food at Montago was excellent and the service was superb. When you're visiting The Bahamas, don't pass up this restaurant!
