November 16,2009:
From the first impression, the resort check-in area is outdated and it smells (looks like it was last updated in the 70's). Guests are not allowed to get into our room until 3pm so make sure you don't get there in the morning if you do stay there. They put us on the C tower (supposedly the nicer tower of the three). It's the tower above the casino. Our room was very dissapointing. The cleanliness is just not their highest priority (or they don't know how to clean properly). Our room had the following issues: * Dirty stained sheets (we called to have them replaced but the replacements also had fluid stains on them). * Bathroom had hair on the floor, bathtub, and walls. * Bathroom walls had feces smeared on them and other stains. * The balcony area was dirty and had grass growing on it, clearly no maintenance at all. * The balcony door was very difficult to open, even though we are fit. We wondered how an older couple could get the door open. * There were locals selling shells on the beach, we saw them urinating in front of everyone on various occassions. * They played loud local music until late at night despite the fact that no one was outside dancing to it or enjoying it. It became annoying listening to the music from our room until past 10pm. * We had lunch at the dolphin outdoor restaurant by the pool (lunch buffet), there were flies and birds eating the food. The food ran out quickly and they did not replace it. There was little food to begin with and at the cost of $30 per person, it was a joke. We could not believe how much they were charging for what we got. And to make matter worse, the food was bad. We complained about the dirty bed sheets as soon as we noticed them and they did send someone to provide new sheets but again the replacement sheets although they had been washed, they had apparent blood stains on them (very disgusting), as well as rust stains. When we complained about not having towels, they dropped two big bags of towels in our room, which we found very odd and unprofessional. They could have just provided the two missing shower towels and two hand towels. The overall feeling of the room was that it was unclean, smelly and uncomfortable. The hotel tried to get us repeatedly to go through one of their "time share" seminars but we declined to attend. It was very annoying to have to decline the request from them several times. They were offering a $50 voucher to the Atlantis resort, once there, you would have to pay to enter the aquarium at the Atlantis resort (which for two people is more than $50). TIP: We took a local bus ($1.25 per person each way) to Nassau and then we walked to the Atlantis resort, got into the aquarium for free (just walking around later in the afternoon). So clearly the "voucher" was a scam to get money. The food at the restaurants was just ok, very expensive for the money and not worth the cost at all. We honestly went there because they were offering very cheap stays but after the experience we would NEVER stay there again. There is absolutely nothing to do at this resort except for gambling at the smoke filled casino. We could not wait to leave this resort and were only happy that we had paid so little to have stayed there. If you have a choice, we strongly recommend you stay somewhere else. It is not worth the time or money. Thanks- -

We got married at this resort and brought all of our 40 guests down to stay here as well! Our experience could not have been better! The staff was extremely attentive to our needs, and it was apparent their top priority was for us to have fun! The location is amazing (10 min from the airport), and the beach scene is incredible! The pool atmosphere is a must see and the dance club and casino are an absolute blast! My entire group all agree that we will return here again and again! -

I spent 5 nights at the Wyndham Nassau during my honeymoon. I must say I will go back. The hotel staff was wonderful, always pleasant and the room was VERY nice. If you go there it is a must that you go to the upstairs bar and hang out with Frederick Cash. He's the best bar tender ever. -
November 5,2009:
This was our 10th or so trip to Cable Beach but our first to the Wyndham. We arrived to the resort around one and were happy to be able to check in early. The front desk staff was pleasant, as was the bellman who showed us to our suite on the 8th floor of the Hibiscus tower. We had a large balcony with a beautiful view of the beach and pool area. The suite had a safe, refrigerator, desk, sofabed, and large flat screen TV in the sitting room. The furnishings were modern and clean. The bedroom had another large flat screen TV, dresser, and comfortable bed. The bathroom had a deep jetted tub. The hotel is not new, but it is refurbished and very clean. We booked our stay with the all inclusive meal plan, but when we decided to stay 2 more nights, we went without the all inclusive option. There are several restaurants on property. We had breakfast a few times at the buffet, which was average, but service was good. Room service had an excellent breakfast of 2 eggs, bacon, sausage, or ham, potatoes or grits, toast, and fruit for only $10 (room service is NOT included on the AI plan). We had lunch every day at the pool bar, which was excellent. For dinner we ate twice at Black Angus, an upscale steakhouse. Service was excellent but both times we ate there, my steak was overcooked. I love their "Bahamas mac and cheese". Moso is an Asian fusion restaurant and not my favorite. On the night we ate there, they were out of all but 3 of their appetizers. Their sashami tuna was excellent, though. There is a new deli style restaurant called Eat, Refresh, Live that serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner and is very good. They have sandwiches, wraps, salads, chicken fingers, etc. There is also a Starbucks in the casino and a new bar on the beach called the Daq Shack. The prices at all venues are decent if you are familiar with pricing on the islands. Housekeeping was excellent. We tipped our housekeeper $20 on the first day and always came back from breakfast to a clean room with bottled water on ice, fresh towels, and replenished toiletries (Bath and Body Works products). The pool was clean and the slide was fun. Servers were plentiful in the pool area. Wyndham guests also have access to the 3 pools and beach at the Sheraton next door. I was never once approached by a beach vendor. There are several shops in the bottom floor of the hotel, as well as in the mall that connects the Wyndham and Sheraton. There was a spa in the mall that was not open yet, but looks like it will be very nice. There are computers with internet in the lobby that are free to use. In-room internet is $15/day. We had a wonderful, relaxing vacation and even won a little money in the casino. We can't wait to return! -
November 2,2009:
I liked staying at this resort, but be careful with your valuables and wallet at any place you stay especially the islands, lock it up in a safe! Came home to find out a fraudulent charge on my bank acct, someone tried to cash advance and western union all my money. I remember leaving my wallet once in my suitcase in my room when I went down to the beach. I also showed my card to a rep at the door of a timeshare presentation, other employees were standing around maye somone took a pic of my card with a camera phone? I never used my bank card for purchases, not even for incidentals at check-in. I used travelers checks. Be careful, a thief can get a hold of your acct info! But anyways the resort is very nce the rooms are clean, the beds are comfy..pool and beach are great.....Black Angus restaurant is pricey but very good quality. I dont recommend Moso Asian restaurant...not good at all- service or food.
