Ocean Village Cruises is designed for people who don't do cruises! That's trendy 30-50 somethings or want some action during their holidays. So it offers the laid back, informal vibe of a beach holiday while giving you the chance to visit a few different locations into the bargain, whether it be the Med or the Caribbean. And, rather like a High Street fashion boutique, Ocean Village have their finger on the pulse of what's hot. All of this and incredibly good value prices too.
Onboard, you're free to eat, dress and do as the mood takes you. Let's take food: there's 24 hour buffet dining or you can be waited on poolside under the stars. Maybe a meal in celebrity chef James Martin's Bistro is more your thing or perhaps you fancy fish and chips and your partner wants a vindaloo? Ocean Village are onto it.
For later in the evening you can sink a pint in the pub followed by a live tribute band or choose a cocktail or two in the Blue Bar, then go on-deck for an open air circus act or aerial laser show.
During the day you've got two pools, four jacuzzis, a state of the art spa and an ocean view gym. And adrenalin junkies won't be disappointed when you hit port either with ashore excursions ranging from jeep safaris in Antigua, to kayaking in the Panama Canal to partying in Barcelona.
But it's not all about the adults. Ocean Village kids' facilities are probably the most extensive at sea with clubs from just 6 months old to 17 years. So that includes a night nursery until midnight for your toddlers and when we say "club" remember this is the coolest cruise line around, so the teen hideout has computer games, videos and karaoke.
All in all, Ocean Village is cruising gone casual and it does it really well.
